NORTH AMERICA

On June 26, 2015, the United States legalized gay marriage all over the united states. Moreover, there are still some state officials trying to find loop holes through the supreme courts recent ruling. Some state officials do not agree with the recent decision made by the supreme court, so states like Mississippi and Oklahaoma are trying to rid marriage liscenses all together. Mexico: The leader of the LGBTI organization was beaten to death. Mexico City: followed Argentina's footsteps in 2009 with legalizing gay marriage.click here for more information

SOUTH AMERICA

Brazil:“The world champion in the murder of homosexuals.” Chile: The surge in violence against gay men and transgenders rises. Peru: The LGBTI organization reports that every 5 days a lesbian, gay, or transgender is killed in this country. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Argentina: legalized same sex marriage. The transgender rights pushed by their government have been deemed some of the worlds most progressive. *Saba Island in the Caribbean and Uruguay soon followed in Argentina and Mexico City's steps in 2012.click here for more information

EUROPE

European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled that Italy must legally recognize same sex couples.click here for more information

The issue in Europe right now with gay rights is falling among the 47 countries apart of Strasburg court. The rights of gays are being determined in more of a legal framework instead of in a political way involving the public opinion. Moreover other European countries are not really discussing the rights and lives for the LGBT community. click here for more information

ASIA

China has a group called PFLAG, which are the Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of China. Their group supports the LGBT community where they live and feel as if that the lives for the LGBT community is unfair in China. They are refused marriage licenses, which makes it hard for them to adopt or buy flats in a neighborhood. Recently the PFLAG sent a letter to the government to address the laws that were written under the Chinese legislation in order to force homosexuals to marry heterosexuals.click here for more information

Singapore's gay activists say that their government has become more understanding. In fact they tolerate the communities decision yet they deem any sexual intercourse between people of the same sex as “an act of gross indecency.”click here for more information

India's government reenacted 377 of India’s penal code. This code basically states that any person caught having sex with another person of the same sex will be severely punished and/ or fined. Some outraged citizens tried to overturn that law, but were denied in January 2014. They are going back to attempt to overturn the law.

AFRICA

The IGLHRC is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The point of their organization is to come up with fast responses to discrimination in jobs or attacks against the LGBT community. click here for more information

President Obama makes a few point to the president of Kenya, Mr. Kenyatta, about the issue of same sex marriage in Kenya. He states that it is wrong for the Kenyan government to discriminate against innocent people because of the way they want to live and love. He states that discrimination like that will keep people in the act of slavery. Also that- that we limit a person's freedom that way.Kenyatta responds click here

AUSTRALIA

There are twp senators in Australia debating over gay marriage. Penny Wong, an oppostion labor senator, is argusing for marriage equality. The other senator known as Cory Benardi, a conservative government MP senator, argues against legalizing it. Throughtout their arguments they go on to discuss the personal and private to the public part of gay marriage and giving their own view on marriage.click here for more information
