Solution
Although it seems as if no further action needs to be taken in the United States because of the recent Supreme Court decision that legalized gay marriage, there is still room for improvement. There are state officials trying to find escape clauses and deny the LGBT community the right to marry as guaranteed by Article 16 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The solution is to revise Article 16's language to fit the present events occuring, as well as adding the revised version of article 16 into the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. By adding sexual orientation into this clause, the issue over same-sex marriage can finally be resolved. However in order for this change to occur, all of the states must execute this law. After the conflict of same-sex marriage is resolved withitn the United States,it will be easier to influence and help advocate for issues surrounding gender equality and sexual orientation globally.
